Charlie, originally from Michigan, moved to Aspen, Colorado where he opened his first business by the age of 20. Sidewinder Sports was Aspen’s first snowboard/extreme sports shop. After selling his business he traveled the world and ended up in the lakes district of Chile. During the next several years he spent summers in Chile and summers in Aspen working with friends and some of Aspen’s best chefs.

I, on the other hand, spent life moving from state to state, but was always drawn back to my favorite, Colorado. After many years of working for large corporations in Phoenix in everything from internet startups to non-profits, working 14 hour days and climbing the promotion ladder, I decided there had to be more to life than my cubicle. I called a good friend in Aspen and told her I was moving back to the mountains of Colorado.

What I found was more than I bargained for! My good friend introduced me to Charlie and the rest of the story just fell in to place with not a second glance back! I joined Charlie in Chile for the next few summers until we finally decided it was time to do something more permanent. I had met an investor of La Estancia de Cafayate while in Aspen and after talking about Chile and Argentina, he recommended we visit Cafayate. Eight months later, after a cold and rainy fall in Chile, we packed up the car with our two siberian husky puppies and drove 4 days from southern Chile to Cafayate. We discovered a place of intense natural beauty, nearly perfect year-round climate, rich cultural and artistic heritage, and not to mention some really good wine.

While in Cafayate we opened a restaurant, started our family with the welcoming of our daughter, started a property management business, and offer our services on how to open businesses in Argentina and advice for those who have purchased or want to purchase at La Estancia de Cafayate or any where else in the area on how to move to this little place we like to call paradise!
